Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist
The DuPont Michigan Operations (MIOPS) site has an opportunity for a self-motivated individual as a **Senior** **Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist** to join our dedicated team in **Midland, MI** . The Senior EHS Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining EHS programs for the site as well as mentoring the EHS Technicians. The position requires coordinating, implementing, and executing tasks to support and maintain people safety and occupational hygiene (OH) requirements using EHS management systems, work processes, standards and procedures. The Senior EHS Specialist will work closely with facility personnel and members of the EHS Team to ensure excellent EHS performance and full compliance with regulations and requirements, while meeting business and site objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Lead implementation of EHS management systems and programs, create operating discipline, and manage tasks to achieve and maintain compliance with regulatory and company requirements, particularly in the space of People Safety and Occupational Hygiene.
+ Understand company, state and federal regulations to maintain site compliance.
+ Update, maintain, and rollout new EHS Standards, tools and work processes.
+ Provide operational guidance, serve as a resource, and mentor/train EHS Technicians and manufacturing team members while championing best practices solutions.
+ Effectively utilize project management skills to ensure efficient task performance and timely implementation of deliverables for business unit projects, company program/standard updates, and regulatory changes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health or Safety Science, or related discipline **or** a minimum of 10 years manufacturing Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) experience, plus applicable non-degreed EHS training.
+ 5+ years of EHS experience.
+ Understanding of Federal and Michigan safety and occupational hygiene regulations affecting complex industrial chemical manufacturing facilities.
+ Strong technical ability to collect, review, and interpret plant chemistry to compare against regulatory requirements.
