POSITION SUMMARY
This Project Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the Collegiate Recovery Program. The Project Coordinator will act as liaison to the CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. They will be required to travel to meet with program partners and participants within the state. The Project Coordinator has a highly visible role and works in close partnership with state and local funders, Connecticut colleges and community coalitions to build collegiate recovery programs using the Safe Project model. The Project Coordinator will occasionally coordinate and conduct training sessions, conferences, and other professional development events on current topics or trends in the prevention and recovery fields. The Project Coordinator works under the direction of the Program Manager and exhibits a high level of critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making.
SALARY
$60,320
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS degree required. A minimum of three years related experience will be considered. Progressively responsible related experience with demonstrated competence in project management, and excellent communication, leadership, time management, and strategic planning skills required. Knowledge of substance use and best practices in recovery required. Expertise in social media, health promotion and marketing required. This position requires some schedule flexibility including occasional evenings or weekends.
Must hold a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Credential(s) Required: Recovery or Prevention Professional Certification preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engages stakeholders from multiple college campuses across Connecticut in the Collegiate Recovery Program.
Develops, implements, and maintains an effective communication strategy to promote the project to create and maintain effective relationships with colleges.
Builds and maintains highly visible and effective relationships with college contacts, Safe Project Staff, DMHAS and others.
Oversees the design and development of project website(s), as applicable.
Effectively utilizes social marketing, social media and other emerging technologies as tools to reach priority populations.
Participates in relevant committees and workgroups as needed.
Actively participates in project planning and coordination meetings with funders.
Collects and reports on demographic, statistical, and evaluation data for assigned programs and activities.
Completes necessary data entry and other required tracking and data management.
Works in collaboration with Program Manager to monitor and ensure that expenses are within budget limits.
Develops and maintains holistic knowledge of populations being served including cultural, ethnic, sexual orientation, gender, and ability difference.
Assists Program Manager in duties necessary for the success of the program and department.
Promotes Wheeler’s Connecticut Center for Prevention, Wellness and Recovery and its activities throughout the state.
Assists Program Manager in providing excellent customer service, responding to funders, and providing community outreach in accordance with program goals and objectives.
Adheres to prevention operating standards, guidelines, and code of ethics.
Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
