Manager, Vulnerability Management

OverviewThe Manager of Vulnerability Management will lead a global team focusing on the enterprise vulnerability management program, ensuring timely identification, assessment, and remediation of security vulnerabilities across systems, applications, and infrastructure. This role requires strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to partner with technical and business teams to reduce risk exposure.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership• Develop and maintain the enterprise vulnerability management strategy aligned with business and regulatory requirements.• Define processes and standards for vulnerability scanning, prioritization, reporting, and remediation.• Lead a team of analysts and engineers responsible for vulnerability assessments and risk reporting.

Operations• Oversee scanning tools and platforms, ensuring accurate detection of vulnerabilities in cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.• Establish vulnerability lifecycle processes including discovery, analysis, risk scoring, exception handling, and closure.• Work with IT, DevOps, Application Security, and Infrastructure teams to track and drive remediation.• Monitor vendor advisories and threat intelligence feeds to identify high-risk vulnerabilities requiring immediate attention.

Governance and Reporting• Develop KPIs, metrics, and dashboards to track program maturity, remediation timelines, and risk reduction.• Provide executive-level reporting to leadership and the CISO on vulnerability posture.• Ensure compliance with standards such as PCI-DSS, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and other applicable frameworks.

Collaboration• Partner with Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, and Security Engineering teams to integrate vulnerability data into overall risk management.• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to align remediation with operational priorities.• Educate technology owners on vulnerability risks and secure coding practices.

Required Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.• 7+ years in Information Security with at least 3 years focused on vulnerability management or related fields.• 3+ years managing and leading technical security teams.• Familiarity with automation and orchestration to streamline vulnerability remediation workflows.• Strong knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7) and patch management solutions.• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container security.• Knowledge of secure SDLC and integration of vulnerability management with DevSecOps practices.• Understanding of CVSS, MITRE ATT&CK, and vulnerability prioritization methods.• Proven ability to translate technical risks into business terms for leadership audiences.

Preferred Qualifications• Master’s degree or security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, OSCP, GIAC).• Experience with Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) and threat-informed defense approaches.
