    Security Officer

     

    Wage: $19.05/hour

     

    Must have a valid MI driver's license.

    Primary Function:

    Protect and safeguard company property and interests and present a positive first contact image. Perform many different duties in pursuit of the general purpose and assignment which shall include but not be limited to the following typical duties:

     

    + Ascertain the identity of all persons entering the premises. Regulate and permit proper ingress and egress of all persons, vehicles, equipment and goods. Prevent improper movements designed to deprive the Company of goods or services.

    + Patrol the premises on assigned tours of inspections for the purpose of reporting and eliminating hazardous conditions and actions. Investigate complaints and determine facts of an occurrence necessary for the production of a written or oral report.

    + May also inspect fire protection systems and equipment, and oversee burning and welding operations, as required. Review and insure adequate and proper fire equipment is provided for all areas and operations on the premises.

    + Provide emergency assistance as circumstances may indicate and perform special assignments representing Company interest.

    + Perform related duties as required.

    + Fence Line Inspections

    + Proper Radio Procedures

    + Responding to Medical Emergencies

    + Opening Company Owned Locks

    + Preparing Incident Reports

    + Parking Lot Patrol / Processing Violations

    + Enforcing Handicap Parking for Employees

    SECURITY OFFICER

     

    The **Security Officer** will conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols (interior and/or exterior), control access and egress, monitor CCTV & alarm systems and complete reports. The Security Officer will deter criminal activity & misconduct and perform other duties as specified in post orders.

     

    II. BASIC REQUIREMENTS A CANDIDATE MUST HAVE IN ORDER TO BE HIRED:

    Formal Education, Licenses and Certifications Required:

    + Must possess a current and valid driver’s license

    Type and Length of Specific Experience Preferred:

    + A minimum of two (2) years of security, military, and/or law enforcement experience

    + Must be able to work flexible schedules

    + Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs

    III. PRIORITIZED SPECIFIC DUTIES PERFORMED AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    + Control access and egress, checking and logging trucks in and out while following proper procedures

    + Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle

    + Respond to all emergencies, incidents, alarms and any other items requested by their Operations Manager/Shift Supervisor and/or per post orders

    + Monitor any/all suspicious activity and report it to their Shift Supervisor

    + Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards

    + Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles

    + Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits

    + Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements

    + Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities

    + Clearly, consistently and accurately fill out all report documentation and applicable forms required for the job

    + Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner

    + Always demonstrate the ability to interact cordially & clearly communicate with the public and all employees & visitors in a professional manner
