Job Summary:The Patient Access Service Representative plays a key role in supporting patient care by ensuring a smooth and accurate registration and admission process. This position serves as a vital point of contact for patients and caregivers, helping to verify information, address questions, and coordinate communication between departments to support timely and accurate care.
Job Description:
+ Meets with patients or their caregivers to exchange necessary information and documentation, providing clear explanations of the registration process and addressing any concerns or questions.
+ Communicates with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange information and determine patient placement.
+ Verifies insurance benefits, obtains pre-certifications and authorizations, and ensures verification of medical necessity as required.
+ Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance, or refers patients to financial counselors for follow-up as appropriate.
+ Ensures all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is accurately entered into the registration system in a timely manner.
