The purpose of this job description is to define the scope, responsibilities, and qualifications for the Clinical Optimization Nurse role. It serves as a foundation for recruitment, performance evaluation, and professional development. This role is integral to advancing clinical quality, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based care and interdisciplinary collaboration
THIS IS A ROTATING SHIFT POSITION: YOU WILL WORK 11AM - 7PM (MONDAY AND FRIDAYs) AND 11AM - 11:30PM (TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY)

Overview:
Holy Cross Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Optimization Nurse to join our Clinical Optimization Unit. This role is designed for experienced nurses who are passionate about improving patient outcomes, mentoring staff, and driving clinical excellence across the continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide direct patient care and clinical expertise, especially for patients with complex needs.
+ Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions of care.
+ Support bedside nurses with care planning, documentation, and coordination.
+ Serve as a mentor, educator, and consultant to nursing staff.
+ Monitor department-specific quality metrics and promote evidence-based practices.
+ Participate in shared governance and unit-based decision-making.
+ Lead small teams and support team development.
+ Ensure compliance with safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
+ Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred.
+ Minimum of five years of recent continuous bedside nursing experience.
+ Current RN license in the State of Florida.
+ ACLS and BLS certifications required.
+ Demonstrated leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs frequently.
+ Capable of prolonged standing, walking, and manual dexterity tasks.
+ Tolerance for frequent interruptions and high-stress situations.
