    CNC Technician, Optical Polishing

     

    Shifts: 1st & 2nd Shift

     

    Working Hours: 1st Shift is typically 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM; 2nd Shift is typically 2:00 PM - 11:30 PM

    Job Description:

    + Manufacture precision optics and optical components.

    + Read and interpret optical component drawings/specs including GD&T.

    + Interpret interferograms, CMM reports, and other metrology data.

    + Independently set up and operate polishing equipment, lathes, flycutters, and other manual/CNC machines.

    + Perform bi-weekly maintenance on polishing machines.

    + Use advanced testing equipment such as interferometers and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

    + Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering and technicians.

    + Maintain a clean and safe work area.

    + Job requires standing 80-90%, walking 10-20%, bending 20%, lifting < 15 lbs.

    Required Skills:

    + Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.

    + Hands-on mechanical skills: disassembling/reassembling components, diagnosing issues.

    + Strong geometry and trigonometry skills.

    + Ability to work any shift, including compressed schedules.

    + Multi-tasking skills to run multiple machines in a cell.

    + Dexterity to handle delicate optical components.

    Desired Skills:

    + Two-year technical degree preferred.

    + Experience with surface quality standards and inspection.

    + Machine maintenance experience.

    + Optical metrology experience.
