Summary:
This position requires knowledge of the company’s warehouse operations that support the company’s engineered packaging operations. Manages, coordinates, and develops a team of warehouse and logistics associates that are responsible for performing a set of tasks specific to material workflow, shipping and receiving, material handling warehousing, distribution, inventory management, and other warehouse functions. The warehouse manager is responsible to ensure a smooth process in a timely and safety-oriented manner. This position requires working closely with production, supply chain, quality, accounting, aftermarket and sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Develop a high performing team of warehouse and logistics personnel.
+ Promote safety best practices including warehouse safety management and risk management practices to avoid danger or injury.
+ Fully embrace the company’s internal computer systems and embrace technology to support efficient and accurate operations.
+ Promote a clean work environment to safeguard against injury and material handling errors.
+ Develops processes, procedures, and provides leadership and training to the warehouse team to perform their duties timely and accurately.
+ Works closely with accounting to ensure inventory accuracy. Ensures inventory control best practices are in place and followed.
+ Uses all of the available tools and technology to run the warehouse operations efficiently.
+ Manages the inventory cycle counting process and reports major discrepancies, adjustments and variances to accounting.
+ Directs daily duties being performed to meet department standards for productive, reliability, and accuracy. Ensures a high degree of detail and focus on every job.
+ Maintains appropriate staffing level and manages the workload.
+ Identifies opportunities for training.
+ Supports and promotes the company’s Total Quality Management program. Identifies continuous improvement opportunities.
+ Promotes a real-time coaching environment. Leads by example. Fosters a culture of teamwork.
+ Works with other departments to ensure accurate product inventory levels and avoid stock outs. Communicates stock concerns or potential issues to the proper individuals.
+ Performs required administrative tasks for people management.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly manages the warehouse team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluation; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

To perform this job, an individual must be an approved driver in the Dearing Fleet Safety Program.
Education and/or Experience
Two year certificate from college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a good understanding of the company’s business systems and knowledge of inventory programs, manufacturing software and spreadsheet software.

Work Environment : The work environment described here is representative of those an employee encounters while working at Dearing Compressor. The exposure in the office areas are typical and plant operations areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection. In the plant area, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. Temperature of manufacturing work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining operations. The employee is occasionally exposed to odors, airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the manufacturing area is usually loud. The noise level in the office is usually quiet. During occasional trips into the field, there may be other exposures beyond those stated due to field conditions.
