You will take the helm of the newly formed Test and Measurement Automation group, a pivotal role responsible for delivering world-class automated testing solutions for a significant portfolio of client projects.
This is a unique opportunity to build a dedicated function from the ground up, shape its strategic direction, and directly influence our competitive advantage through both organic and inorganic growth.
Position Overview:
As the Test & Measurement Automation Lead, you will have complete ownership of all test and measurement automation projects, from initial planning and requirements definition through final implementation and ongoing maintenance. You will lead a dedicated team, fostering a strong systems engineering discipline. A key to success will be your ability to foster deep collaboration with our Hardware Product Development (HW PD) team to ensure comprehensive test coverage for all new products. You will be the primary driver behind the team's technical excellence, operational efficiency, and strategic expansion.
Responsibilities:
+ Strategic Leadership & Growth:
+ Spearhead the inorganic growth of the Test Automation group by defining acquisition criteria, identifying potential targets with complementary expertise, conducting thorough due diligence, and developing clear post-acquisition integration plans.
+ Drive the team’s focus on key growth markets by allocating resources to develop specialized test solutions for advanced hardware.
+ Continuously review and evaluate new test automation technologies and methodologies to keep the team at the forefront of the industry.
+ Team Leadership & Development:
+ Build and lead the Test and Measurement Automation group, serving as the appointed Test Automation Lead.
+ Define the team's leadership structure and core responsibilities, including the development of test plans, design of automated test fixtures, creation of test scripts, and analysis of test data.
+ Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team by identifying existing talent, recruiting to fill expertise gaps, and providing training on new tools and best practices.
+ Operational & Technical Excellence:
+ Take full ownership of test automation projects, leading them from conception to completion.
+ Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as test coverage and defect detection rate to measure the group's effectiveness.
+ Develop and enforce consistent documentation standards for test plans, test cases, and automation scripts to ensure clarity and maintainability.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration:
+ Work closely with the HW PD team to define testing requirements for all hardware products.
+ Implement and lead regular cross-functional meetings to facilitate communication and drive project alignment between the Test and HW PD groups.
+ Establish robust feedback loops between the teams to identify areas for improvement and optimize processes.
Qualifications
+ 10+ years of experience in test engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing test automation or hardware validation teams.
+ Proven track record of building, scaling, and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
+ Deep technical expertise in test and measurement disciplines, including Industrial Automation, EOL Testing, Calibration, and Design Validation.
+ Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives, with exposure to M&A activities (target evaluation, due diligence, integration) being highly desirable.
+ Experience in designing test solutions for complex hardware, preferably within the space, medical, or industrial sectors.
+ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams like product development and project management.
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
