    Summary

    Come join our Agribusiness team in Salisbury, MD for Summer 2026! Our Corporate Communications Internship offers students hands-on, real-world experience within the company over an 8 - 10 week period. Our Ingredient Merchandising intern is responsible for providing an introduction and understanding of an agricultural business focusing on the purchase, sale, and logistical movement of various agricultural commodities.     This position has a target wage of $21.90 - $28.13 per hour, based on graduation year. Overtime may be available.

     

    Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    This person will be responsible for:

    + Developing an understanding of the purchase and sale of agricultural products into the domestic market.

    + Tracking and understanding relationships between various cash markets.

    + Developing automation and process improvements to improve the efficiency of trade execution

    + Analyzing and understanding freight and future spreads.

    + working with suppliers, brokers and internal/external customers to manage supply chain

    + Performing assigned research and project work related to the domestic grain business.

    Minimum Education

    + Junior or Senior currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Poultry Science, Animal Science or related field.

    + Prefer GPA is 3.0 or higher.

    Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

    + Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.

    + When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

    + May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.

    + May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.

    + Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. May need to climb ladders.
