Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA Headquarters Complex, Operations Building. Responsibilities Manage multiple IT projects. Mastery of Network Operations voice, video, or data telecommunications system operations and maintenance. Develops status reports, policies, schedules, requirements, text plans, briefings, white papers, and results of studies for the respective projects, systems, or programs. Ability to organize, present, and communicate technical concepts and issues orally and in writing, with all levels of personnel within and outside the Agency. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Experience that provided a basic knowledge of telecommunications functions, problems, and/or solutions in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology. OR Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as experience, considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service, managing projects through all lifecycle phases by coordinating, preparing, monitoring, and implementing project plans that demonstrate strong attention to detail, customer service, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.
