    Job Description

    The Director, IT Portfolio Management & Agile Services organizes and prioritizes projects and programs based on IT strategy, strategic roadmap, and available and prioritized budgets, and ensures that the appropriate financial and organizational support is allocated in support of those goals. The Director coaches, educates, and mentors leaders and teams to enable scaled, sustainable adoption of Agile practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe), promoting a culture of collaboration, transparency, predictability, and velocity.

     

    The role establishes and maintains Lean Portfolio Management and Agile practices, standards, and guidelines to support transparent decision-making, investment funding, portfolio operations, and governance for the Growth & Digital portfolio. Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and the role implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, improves performance, and provides input into the function’s strategy.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Establish and maintain Lean Portfolio Management methodologies, standards, and guidelines for the Growth & Digital portfolio

    + Lead a team of Portfolio Management Specialists to:

    + Manage the portfolio budget, providing regular updates on cost forecasting and actual spend

    + Execute annual portfolio planning and value justification

    + Lead a team of Agile Coaches to continuously mature Agile practices across Scrum Teams and Agile Release Trains, including coaching leaders and teams to adopt scaled practices (e.g., SAFe)

    + Partner with business and technology leaders to ensure portfolio prioritization aligns to strategy, outcomes, and financial targets; drive visibility into investment decisions, risks, and value realization

    + Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by advancing Agile processes and Lean-Agile leadership behaviors across the segment

    Required Qualifications

    + 10+ years of experience in IT portfolio management, program management, or related leadership roles

    + 5 or more years of management experience

    + Demonstrated success leading Lean Portfolio Management andAgile transformations at scale, including coaching executives, leaders, and teams

    + Strong financial acumen with proven experienceleading prioritization processes,executive alignment, forecasting, and value realization

    + Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization

    + Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail

    + Advanced experience leading special projects and producing metrics, measurements and trend reports

    + Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

    Preferred Qualifications

    + MBA or other Advanced Degree

    + Possess a solid understanding of operations, technology, communications and processes

    + Relevant SAFe certificationssuch as SAFeProgram Consultant, SAFe Lean Portfolio Management, andSAFe Agilist

    Work-At-Home Requirements

    + WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

    + A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

    + Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

    + A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

    Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

    Pay Range

     

    The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

     

    $156,600 - $215,400 per year

     

    This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
