DESCRIPTION:
Role Overview
This role will serve as a dual position of product manager and project manager for R&S and TPC’s respective emerging AI and automation initiatives. The position will focus on two major areas:
1. Agentic & Generative AI at R&S – Identifying, prototyping, and driving adoption of workflow automations and generative AI tools to support construction operations, and
2. Enterprise Data & AI Initiatives at TPC – Coordinating and supporting enterprise projects such as the CR-1 automation effort, ensuring alignment of R&S needs with TPC’s Fabric-based data strategy.
The AI Product & Project Manager will act as a translator between business needs and technical execution, ensuring that tools are not only developed but adopted, scaled, and measured for impact.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management (TPC-Focused, ~50–75%)
- Coordinate the CR-1 automation initiative and related Fabric-based data projects.
- Serve as the liaison between R&S and other BU teams, TPC data engineers/consultants, and Procore Committee.
- Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and adoption strategies.
- Track milestones, risks, and governance checkpoints under the SPIRE framework.
- Support training, rollout, and change management across business units.
AI Product Management (R&S-Focused, ~25–50%)
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for AI-driven automation and data chat tools.
- Build and test proofs-of-concept using Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Fabric, and related platforms.
- Evaluate external vendor solutions and integrate them as needed.
- Partner with internal data analysts to align automations with certified data schemas.
- Define and measure success metrics (time savings, cost avoidance, adoption rates).
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams (IT/IS, Accounting, PM, Scheduling, VDC, HR, C-Suite).
- Engage external stakeholders (clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors).
- Ensure developed tools/workflows respect governance, security, and data permissions.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong background in project management (tech, data, or construction-related projects).
- Familiarity with AI/automation platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Fabric).
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical asks and vice versa.
- Skilled at stakeholder alignment, communication, and adoption strategies.
- Comfortable operating in a matrixed environment with both local and enterprise-level initiatives.
- Prior experience in construction technology, data workflows, or process automation is a plus.
Success Measures
- Successful coordination of CR-1 automation milestones (on time, within scope).
- Delivery of at least two high-value R&S AI/automation POCs within first year.
- Documented adoption and measurable impact of deployed workflows.
- Positive feedback from both TPC CDO team and R&S leadership.
