    As a Veterinary Assistant, you play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to pets while supporting a collaborative and efficient veterinary team. This position offers the opportunity to grow your skills, educate clients, and make a meaningful impact every day.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians by serving as their extra eyes, ears, and hands to ensure top-quality patient care and improve team productivity

    + Support the flow of patients by communicating clearly with the veterinary team and other hospital associates

    + Deliver professional, efficient service by preparing for procedures, monitoring hospitalized and surgical patients (within legal scope), and ensuring a comfortable environment for pets and clients

    + Educate clients on preventive care, Optimum Wellness Plans, hospital services, and overall pet health

    + Accurately obtain patient history and maintain complete, organized medical records

    + Ensure safety for pets, clients, and associates by following safe handling and restraint techniques and maintaining clean, sterile exam rooms and treatment areas

    + Assist with surgery when applicable and within your scope of practice

    + Utilize your technical skills to the fullest extent allowed under state practice acts and NAVTA guidelines

    + Mentor and support fellow paraprofessionals in the hospital

    + Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall hospital operations

    Qualifications:

    + Experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred

    + Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

    + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

    + Must meet all state requirements for veterinary assistant duties
