    Job Summary and Responsibilities

     

    Mercy Hospital of Folsom is a certified stroke and chest pain Center with a 25-bed Emergency Room. The long term staff of the ED prides itself on teamwork and trust.

     

    The Registered Nurse provides coordinates and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. Each RN is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team providing leadership personal/professional development and conducting him/herself professionally.

     

    + Assessment: Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards.

    + Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating.

    + Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit.

    + Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures.Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system.

    + Leadership: Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts andcooperates with direction from facility leadership.

    + Patient Safety: Applies safety precautions and principles to patient care, including all applicable National Patient SafetyGoals, and adherence to medication management policies and procedures.

    Job Requirements

    Minimum

    + Minimum of 1 year emergency nursing experience as an RN

    + Candidates must have a current California RN License

    + PALS, ACLS and BLS from the American Heart Association

    + Other certifications may be required

    Pay Range

    $85.79 - $85.79 /hour
