    Role Overview:

    DCS Central Operations assists local child support offices with administrative operations for child support cases. The Central Operations Special Project Team assists the Financial Integrity, Business Integrity, and Central Services departments to meet certain project goals and activities. The unit’s duties change with the needs and goals of DCS and agency projects.

     

    You will assist with reviewing reports for undistributed child support collections and timely distribution of those funds. You will also assist in reviewing various reports for opportunities to enhance system data and the collections process for unpaid support.

    Salary:

    The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

    A Day in the Life:

    The essential functions of this role are:

    + Leverage extensive experience in child support services to quickly adapt to new projects and evolving priorities.

    + Design and implement customized business reports to support project goals and enhance decision-making.

    + Develop and maintain data cleanup reports to ensure the accuracy and integrity of child support case records within the statewide system.

    + Investigate and resolve interface discrepancies that impact individual case processing and data consistency.

    + Acts as a backup for key functions in other units, ensuring operational efficiency during high-demand periods.

    This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours that may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.

    What You'll Need for Success:

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

    + Knowledge of federal and state child support programs.

    + Knowledge of child welfare and/or public assistance practices including TANF and Medicaid.

    + Knowledge of program design and program evaluation.

    + Excellent customer service skills.

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    + Ability to work with diverse populations and effectively assist in resolving problems for child support program participants.

    + Ability to make public presentations.

    + Ability to negotiate resolutions to complex problems or situations.

    + Ability to anticipate problems and initiate corrective actions.

    + Ability to work independently.

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities.

    Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

    This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
