Description We are looking for a highly skilled Controller to oversee and manage financial operations for our organization in New York, New York. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in financial reporting, tax compliance, and month-end adjustments. The ideal candidate will excel in process improvement and have a strong ability to ensure accurate financial documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

• Reconcile bank statements, investigate discrepancies, and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.

• Generate sales, expenditure, and accounts receivable reports for various teams on a regular basis.

• Manage tax filings and payments, including corporate income tax, sales tax, and franchise tax in multiple states.

• Collaborate with auditors to prepare necessary documents and address audit findings.

• Calculate and post month-end and year-end adjusting entries, including accruals, deferred revenue, and inventory adjustments.

• Process domestic and international payments, including wire transfers and reconciliation of accounts payable.

• Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and related entries.

• Streamline and automate accounting processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.

• Ensure accounting systems are properly maintained, integrated with other business systems, and aligned with financial reporting standards. Requirements • Proven experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax compliance.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.

• Proficiency in managing month-end and year-end adjustments and journal entries.

• Familiarity with multi-state tax regulations and filings.

• Ability to work collaboratively with auditors and external accounting firms.

• Expertise in payment processing and accounts payable reconciliation.

• Experience with accounting systems and process improvement initiatives.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
