Description

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team. This is a long-term contract 100% remote position ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong technical accounting skills and a solid understanding of financial reporting and auditing processes. The role offers an opportunity to support critical financial operations and contribute to the improvement of accounting controls and practices.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate audit-related requests by reviewing responses and providing clear guidance to the accounting team.

• Prepare and review predecessor and successor audited financial statements using internal consolidation data.

• Support month-end close processes and ensure accurate general ledger entries.

• Assist in financial reporting activities, including the preparation of annual audited financial statements.

• Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits to ensure compliance and timely completion.

• Address and remediate control deficiencies identified during previous audits to enhance accounting practices.

• Utilize Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics for financial operations and reporting.

• Provide expertise in DCAA compliance and ensure adherence to audit requirements.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of improved accounting processes and controls.

Requirements • Proven experience in technical accounting and financial reporting.

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics is preferred.

• Advanced knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with financial statement audits and external audit processes.

• Solid understanding of DCAA compliance and related requirements.

• Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close and general ledger activities.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills to liaise with auditors and internal teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
