JobSummary: This position is part of the B&N Engineering department and focuses on supporting warehouse improvement initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data, documenting procedures, assisting with SOP training, and tracking key operational metrics. You will also evaluate current processes and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and expand the capacity of the distribution center network. Success in this role relies on strong collaboration with teams across the organization.
An employee in this position can expect an annual starting rate between $85,000-95,000, depending on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
WhatYouDo:
• Review current distribution center processes and identify opportunities for improvement: reduce cycle time, increase throughput, improve quality, safety, and cost savings.
• • Observe and evaluate employees' tasks and responsibilities to identify bottlenecks and issues related to systems, procedures, or pace.
• • Make recommendations to modify processes to maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
• • Document and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and work instructions.
• • Assist with SOP training across warehouse functions.
• • Collaborate on work standardization and time studies.
• • Gather data needed to maintain labor performance metrics and labor models.
• • Use analytical methods and tools to understand and forecast order cadence, evaluate process changes, and identify slotting needs.
• • Work with large datasets in Excel and/or MS Access (300K+ items), analyze the data, identify trends, run regressions, and conduct forecasting.
• • Present and summarize data analysis through graphs and diagrams.
• • Demonstrate knowledge of warehouse and distribution center operations.
• • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge&Experience:
• BS Degree in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering, and/or equivalent work experience.
• 1-3+ years of experience in Distribution centers.
• Familiar with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
• 5+ Years’ Experience in Microsoft Excel, preferred MS Access, and knowledge of SQL, Power Bi, and Python (would be a plus)
• Time Studies software.
• Understanding of computer databases, statistic applications, and logistics programs.
• Proven knowledge of Automation and Material handling solutions: picking and packing technology.
• Strong organization, time-management, prioritization, multi-tasking, independent-decision making, problem-solving, interpersonal, analytical, etc. skills.
• Works well under deadlines, self-starter, innovative, team-oriented, customer-focused, etc.
• Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
