    Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is looking for a Supply Technician to work in Ft. Stewart, GA. This position performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions.     Responsibilities

    + Maintains tools and equipment and cleans work areas to maintain a safe work environment.

    + Ensures that all tasks are performed safely and meets Government/Army standards when applicable.

    + Performs other duties as required to support the mission and contractual requirements.

    + Ability to complete and prioritize tasks on multiple concurrent projects within given timeframes.

    + Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions..

    Qualifications

    + Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

    + High school diploma or GED equivalent.

    + Candidate must possess a working knowledge of the Logistics Information Systems Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-Army) application software.

    + Candidate must have knowledge of standardized maintenance regulations – specifically DA Pam 750-8, Functional User’s Manual for The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS).

    + Candidate must have training in the use of Logistics Information Systems (LIS).

    + Assignments require:

    + A good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.

    + An understanding of the needs of the organization serviced.

    + Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.

    + Must be proficient in Vantage, DST, and GCSS Army.

    + Employee is required to maintain a valid state-issued Driver’s license and applicable Government/Army license.

    + Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.

    + Excellent written and oral communications skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Excellent attention to detail.

    + Work well in a team environment and able to work with a diverse group of people.

    + Discretion and trustworthiness due to frequent contact with confidential material.

    + Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and all others in a courteous and professional manner.

    Desired Qualifications:

    + Completed prerequisite training for Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) –92Y2O/3O- Unit Supply Specialist or have equivalent training with 4-6 years of supply experience as an E-5 to E-6.

    Physical Demands:

    + Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling very heavy parts and loads. Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, and reach as required to work on equipment.

    + Be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions when necessary.

    + Wear safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g. gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear, hearing protection, and other items such as aprons or outerwear as appropriate.

    + Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs.; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to the weather.

    + Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to, head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices.
