    Position OverviewUnited Health Services is looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable Financial Counselor to join our team. In this role, you’ll help patients navigate financial options, provide guidance on coverage and payment plans, and ensure they feel supported every step of the way.

    Compensation Range:

    $17.98 - $25.17 per hour, depending on experience

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Communicate hospital financial policies and estimated patient liability to patients in a clear and professional manner.

    + Verify accuracy of patient demographics, including address and phone number, and collect missing details such as Social Security numbers.

    + Contact patients with scheduled services to review expected financial obligations and arrange payment within 30 days.

    + Collect payments from unscheduled patients prior to discharge for any outstanding liabilities.

    + Gather financial information such as employment, income, and obligations via phone or in person, and determine eligibility for assistance programs.

    + Stay current on reimbursement regulations and third-party billing practices, and prepare required financial reports on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

    Position Qualifications:

    Minimum Required:

    + High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED).

    + 1 year of experience in the collection field.

    + 2 years prior office/clerical experience with the ability to perform simple mathematical computations with high degree of accuracy.

    Preferred:

    + Additional collection experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
