Lead Operations & Finance for a Mission-Driven Nonprofit
Exceptional Persons Inc. is seeking a Director of Operations / Business Director to oversee key operational functions including finance, compliance, property management, representative payee services, and fleet operations. You’ll manage budgets, supervise a talented team, and ensure regulatory compliance, all while shaping systems that support life-changing work in our community.

+ Manage budgets, forecasts, program-level financial analysis, and reports in compliance with GAAP, delivering timely insights to support leadership decisions and long-term sustainability.
+ Oversee grants, deferred revenue, and Medicaid/community services billing, ensuring regulatory compliance with state, federal, and nonprofit financial standards.
+ Direct audit preparation and maintain internal controls, risk management, and adherence to accounting best practices, partnering with leadership on compliance and financial strategy.
+ Lead and mentor finance and business operations teams, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and representative payee services, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
+ Review, negotiate, and manage contracts, supporting operational alignment and driving sound organizational financial decisions.
+ Ensure integrity and security of financial systems and data, supporting strategic planning and organizational financial sustainability.

+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
+ Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis.
+ At least 2 years of supervisory experience with proven leadership success.
+ Nonprofit financial management experience, including Medicaid billing, strongly preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of compliance, risk management, and regulatory standards.
+ Effective communicator with the ability to explain financial and operational concepts to diverse stakeholders.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with accounting, property, or fleet management software a plus.
+ Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current insurance.
+ Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment requirements.
