A Child's Place at Unity House of Troy is seeking passionate and qualified Master’s Level Special Education Teachers (Birth–Grade 2 certified) to join our welcoming Special Education Department. $5000 sign on bonus for eligible candidates

Salaried Monday – Friday 35hrs/week

Qualifications:

+ Master’s Degree in Special Education

+ NYS Certification: Students with Disabilities, Birth–Grade 2

+ Proficient writing and computer skills

+ Ability to implement and adapt behavior support plans

+ Reliable transportation & valid NYS driver’s license

Key Responsibilities:

+ Assess developmental and educational needs of preschoolers with special needs

+ Design and implement individualized, evidence-based instruction

+ Perform student assessment and evaluation required

+ Adapt behavioral plans accordingly

+ Work with a supportive multi-disciplinary team

+ Collaborate with all staff, teachers, therapists, administrators and families to benefit the children served

+ Create inclusive, supportive classroom environments

+ Conduct evaluations and maintain required documentation

+ Promote a classroom of inclusion and belonging
