Your Impact at SAM
The Survey Project Manager is responsible for leading land surveying projects from initiation through completion, with a primary focus on transportation and public-sector work. This role ensures that all deliverables meet client expectations, regulatory requirements, company quality standards, and financial goals. As the primary liaison between SAM and its clients, the Survey Project Manager oversees both field and office teams, drives business development efforts, and supports staff growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead transportation and public-sector land survey projects from planning through delivery
+ Prepare and manage project proposals, budgets, schedules, contracts, and billings
+ Supervise field and office teams, assign resources, and establish detailed work plans
+ Provide technical oversight by signing and sealing plats, field notes, and right-of-way drawings as required
+ Develop and implement systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality
+ Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication
+ Drive business development initiatives and lead proposal efforts for public-sector opportunities
+ Present project updates, technical reports, and deliverables to clients and stakeholders
+ Coordinate with sub-consultants, agency partners, and internal teams for seamless project execution
+ Monitor project financials, including AR, WIP, and overall profitability
+ Mentor and develop staff on technical standards, quality expectations, and agency requirements
+ Represent SAM at client meetings, industry events, and trade shows
What You Bring to SAM
+ Previous experience managing large scale Transportation/Public Service survey projects
+ Strong proficiency with or understanding of tools such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, Geopack, MS Office Suite
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly define assignments/deliverables to team members
+ Ability to oversee, mentor and motivate a project team
+ Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem solve on the fly
+ Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with others
+ Professional License required

Salary Maximum
USD $150,000.00/per year
Salary Minimum
USD $115,000.00/per year
