    Job Summary:

    Upstate Medical Hospital is the largest employer of Dietitians in the Syracuse area. We’re seeking passionate Clinical Dietitian Specialists to join our progressive, evidence-based nutrition care team at Upstate University Hospital.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Provide nutrition assessments, interventions, and education

    + Manage nutrition support therapies (enteral/parenteral)

    + Collaborate on patient care rounds and QAPI initiatives

    + Deliver outpatient counseling and meet documentation/billing standards

     

    Specialty Areas Include: Bariatrics, renal, cardiac, diabetes, nutrition support, transplant, oncology, pediatrics, critical/intensive care: adult and pediatric units and outpatient services.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelors or Masters degree required. Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration required. NYS Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist license (or eligible) required. Three or more years of post RD certification experience in clinical dietetics. Specialty certification or advanced specialized membership required within 3 years of hire.

     

    *Candidates with Bachelors or Masters degree, Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration upon hire or within six (6) months of hire, NYS Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist license upon on hire or within one (1) year of hire, and less than 3 years of post RD certification experience will be considered for appointment to an entry-level (SL1) position at commensurate title and salary.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Master's degree with preferred area of Nutrition or related field. Two (2) years or more of experience with Inpatient Critical Care or two (2) years or more of experience with Outpatient Counseling with experience in billing. Board certification as a Nutrition Support Clinician or other certifications in Pediatrics or Adult Nutrition: Board Certification as a Specialty in Pediatric Nutrition, Weight Management and Obesity, Oncology Nutrition, Renal Nutrition or board certification in Advanced Diabetes Management.

    Work Days:

    Monday-Friday, days with weekends and holidays

    Message to Applicants:

    The full time equivalent salary for this role is $65,000+ depending on qualifications. These part time, 50% positions are located at the Children's Pavilion and at the inpatient downtown University Hospital location.
