Description
V2X is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN supporting development and integration of advanced systems including situational awareness displays, mission computers, avionics, sensors, mission equipment, and radar systems. Our Indianapolis facility also supports a variety of other product lines serving multiple Department of Defense (DoD) customers providing the opportunity to work on a diverse set of programs and roles supporting the continued advancement of your career.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
The Senior Systems Engineer in Indianapolis supports engineering teams by managing program development from concept through verification and validation. Key responsibilities include:
+ Developing and integrating hardware and software systems on air, sea, or ground platforms.
+ Leading requirements development, system design reviews, and test plan creation.
+ Performing system integration, test execution, and troubleshooting complex systems.
+ Creating trade studies and technical analyses to guide design decisions.
+ Providing technical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
+ Collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders across engineering, management, and customer organizations.
+ Occasionally traveling to client sites for installations or troubleshooting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
+ Experience providing leadership, technical direction, and guidance to multi-disciplined teams.
+ Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Strong accountability with the ability to work autonomously to deliver high quality work products on-schedule.
+ Understanding of the System Engineering Lifecycle and processes.
+ Experience with requirements development, hardware and software integration, and requirements verification.
+ Experience with test execution including test plan and procedure development.
+ Experience with development, integration, and test of complex systems onto air, sea, and/or ground platforms.
+ Experience applying technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to solve problems.
+ Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to support customer meetings, integration events, and customer engagements.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
+ Experience integrating and testing safety-critical systems per DO-178C/DO-254/ARP-4754A.
+ Experience with Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
+ Experience with airworthiness certification processes and procedures
+ Experience and/or knowledge of Agile techniques (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, SAFe, etc.)
+ Experience creating Trade Studies and analyzing technical data.
+ Model Based Systems Engineering experience.
+ Current Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance
Experience:
+ 5+ years of experience in systems, software, or hardware engineering.
**Education / Certifications:** _One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required._
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related STEM field.
