Services we provide are Respiratory, Sleep and Ventilation services, Photo Therapy, Negative Wound Pressure Therapy, Orthotic and Prosthetics, Durable Medical Equipment, Enteral Nutrition, Ostomy, and Wound Care Supplies.     As an HME Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of intakes/new referrals, daily deliveries of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to customers both in the home and in the hospital/facility as required in the Payson area. You will also work closely with referral customers such as physician offices or case management at the hospital/facility.

     

    **Schedule:** Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (with some on-call duties).

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for providing customer service and equipment deliveries for referral sources ordering durable medical equipment. This position works on order processing from start to finish, provides service to Home Care patients through delivery, assembly, and instruction on safe use, follow-up visits, and on-call trouble shooting of home medical equipment.

    CORE FUNCTION

    1. Handles incoming and outgoing calls for new orders/request for services. Gives verbal and written instructions to customers both internal and external. Individualizes approach to customers and introduces self to the customer. Answers all phone calls and assists caller until all needs are met. Returns calls to customers. Greets walk-in customers and assists them with equipment and supply needs.

    2. Retrieves documentation from referral customers and creates intake into HME EMR. Communicates intake needs with referral customer as needed, including referral status updates. Contacts patients to advise of order status and/or scheduling delivery/set-up of durable medical equipment. Provides effective written and verbal communication to other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure initiation of care.

    3. May work under the supervision of a registered respiratory therapist (RRT) to care for specific patients. Prioritizes work to balance patient satisfaction and company resources. Internal customers include staff and Banner referral sources. External customers include vendors, physician/office staff, and patients/family members.

    4. Loads, delivers, sets up and provides operational instructions, education and troubleshooting material with patient/caregiver on use of home medical equipment including but not limited to Respiratory Equipment, Pediatric oxygen, NPWT, Enteral, and bedroom/bathroom medical equipment and associated supplies, in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements. May also assist with internal and external consignment closet replenishment.

    5. Assembles, disassembles, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, cleans and performs adjustments in the applications of durable medical equipment and circuitry used in the delivery of respiratory equipment as prescribed in accordance with established department policies and procedures.

    6. Completes required documentation associated with equipment pick-ups and equipment delivery, set up, instruction and education of products in accordance with company policy, state and federal regulatory requirements

    7. May maintain supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies and verifying receipt of supplies.

    8. This position may have on-call responsibilities which would include, but not limited to, assist with afterhours referrals, troubleshooting, and delivery/set-ups.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

     

    Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy. In some locations, CDL with appropriate Hazardous Materials certification may be required.

     

    One year of experience in hospital, home care, HME, transportation or other healthcare related setting. Must demonstrate excellent face-to-face customer service. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position. Employees working for Banner Home Care/Hospice must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.

     

    Ability to keep detailed records regarding equipment and medical records. Ability to communicate effectively. Able to prioritize and organize daily work according to patient needs.
