    We are seeking a professional like you for our Product Manager for Plasticizers in the Petrochemicals business unit. In this role, you will be responsible for pricing and margin management, development and maintenance of financial forecasts, demand forecasts, operational planning, supply planning, inventory targets, cost reduction initiatives and business process improvement.

     

    As the key central point of contact for daily operations of the business and with a focus on the short to mid-term outlook, you will work effectively in close collaboration with our Manufacturing, Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, Controlling, and Technical Service teams, as well as Customer Care & Purchasing, to drive activities and initiatives to meet business targets and objectives.

     

    As a Product Manager Plasticizers, you create chemistry by...

     

    + Ensuring optimized use of our asset base, coproducers and tollers, while balancing working capital and an internal/external customer service/focus.

    + Implementing pricing initiatives based on market dynamics (raw materials, supply/demand balances, competitive situations, etc.) in conjunction with sales and marketing teams.

    + Analyzing the Plasticizers Monthly P&L and Cost Centers, including development of commentary for communication of results, and implementation of resulting actions to meet business objectives.

    + Maintaining and developing relationships with Co-Producers and manage commercial activities including tolling, swaps, exchanges, sales and purchase activities.

    + Identifying and capitalizing on opportunities with your BASF business counterparts in other regions where we have import/export relationships.

    + Commiting to our continuous improvement culture by completing training and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for the business.

    + Supporting the North America Plasticizers Marketing and Sales Team for development of and implementation of milestones and deliverables within the Plasticizer strategy, including new product launches and evaluations, market intelligence and tactical and longer-term projects.

     

    If you...

     

    + Have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, business or related degree or equivalent blend of knowledge and experience.

    + Possess at least 3 years of experience in product management or related field to improve profitability of your portfolio related to Manufacturing environments.

    + Hold a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), preferred.
