Position Title:
Senior Instructional Designer-HR Talent Development & Learning-Mount Sinai Health System-Full Time-Days
Position Summary:
The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of system-wide annual regulatory and compliance training required for all employees, regardless of role. This includes e-learning design, instructional design, content development, and instructor-led training. The role involves close collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders to ensure training content is up-to-date with industry regulations, organizational policies, and applicable laws. Strong project management skills are essential including stakeholder coordination, version control, and ongoing maintenance to ensure timely and compliant rollout each year.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in related field required. Master?s degree preferred. Applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements
Experience Requirements:
+ 5+ years of design and development experience, focused on e-learning formats
+ Graphic Design, LMS and e-learning authoring
+ Proficiency using Articulate 360 course creation platform
+ Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
+ Basic audio- and video-editing capabilities
+ Basic knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, XML, Sharepoint **General Skills and Competencies:**

+ Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.

Responsibilities
e-Learning Design
1. Analyzes storyboards and other documentation and make recommendations for proper interactive and development strategies
2. Designs and develops self-paced trainings using sound instructional design principles
3. Develops and programs AICC and/or SCORM compliant HTML/HTML5 based e-learning using industry leading authoring tools such as Articulate 360
4. Works with and creates custom graphics in tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
5. Offers innovative, creative solutions
Instructional Design
1. Identifies appropriate instructional strategies, instructional technologies and best practices
2. Researches and makes recommendations on educational best practices, instructional resources and technologies, and multimedia/software to support teaching and learning
3. Keeps abreast of new learning software applications and technical knowledge
Content Development
1. Consults with SMEs on learning objectives and content through curriculum development sessions, documents findings, and writes reports
2. Develops course materials, in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, animation and multimedia to make courses dynamic, visually appealing, and interactive
3. Recommends appropriate assessment techniques
Project Management
1. Leads the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale, annual mandatory education training, ensuring timely delivery across all phases—from needs analysis through launch and post-implementation review.
2. Manages complex project timelines with multiple, concurrent deliverables, proactively tracking milestones, dependencies, and critical paths
3. Owns stakeholder engagement, facilitating ongoing communication to ensure requirements are accurately captured, executed and tracked
4. Implements rigorous version control and documentation processes, managing frequent content updates, iterative reviews, and approvals to maintain accuracy, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
5. Establishes and maintains project dashboards, reports, and communications, providing transparent updates to stakeholders and leadership.
6. Continuously refines project workflows and templates, applying lessons learned and feedback from prior years to improve efficiency.
7. Partners and collaborates with training vendors and manages vendor relationships, including selection, direction, and issue resolution.
Instructor–led Training
1. Trains SMEs in technology tools and e-learning instructional design methods
2. Delivers selected technology related instructor led training and participates in TDL learning programs
3. Other duties as required

Compensation Statement
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $87692 - $131538 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
