    We are hiring a Senior Investment Data Analyst for our IMG Services Data team! This team supports Vanguard’s Equity Investment Group and delivers high-quality, real-time investment data and operational support to the global trade floor. In this department, we manage and validate portfolio-level data, security master data, and market data. We ensure this information is integrated into internal systems and serve as the main escalation point for data queries from the Investment Management Group and Finance Division.

     

    As part of this team, you will provide investment insights, perform data analytics, and resolve issues to inform portfolio management and support strategic initiatives. You will also help maintain data integrity across equity reference and index data.     PLEASE NOTE: This role is based out of our Scottsdale, AZ location and does require 3 days in-house/week. Candidates must live withing a commutable distance. Relocation is not being offered.

    Responsibilities:

    + Provides Index and Reference data to enhance investment decisions and fund oversight.

    + Completes complex daily and ad hoc tasks while working under tight deadlines, managing competing priorities, and analyzing multiple inputs to meet operational objectives. Acts as a point of escalation for complex portfolio and index methodology related issues.

    + Provides oversight of all the teams activities to ensure accurate and timely service delivery, as needed. Analyzes and resolves complex data issues supporting the portfolio management process.

    + Proactively identifies and leads process enhancement initiatives to gain efficiency and improve quality of data and service. Recognizes and resolves roadblocks to maximize team impacts. Reviews and performs root cause analysis of data errors and provides short-term and long-term solutions.

    + Cultivates and maintains strong strategic relationships with key partners. Partners across the global fund ecosystem to resolve operational and service issues. Leverages and strengthens the Finance and IMG-wide network to accelerate complex issue resolution and improve quality. Partners with external data vendors and industry contacts to enable best-in-class data management practices.

    + Strong industry-wide knowledge of the investment data management landscape and end-to-end knowledge of assigned data domain required for success.

    + Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    + Undergraduate degree (Accounting/Finance preferred) or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree or CFA (completed or in progress) preferred.

    + Minimum of five years relevant work experience

    + Demonstrated ability to analyze issues independently and take appropriate action with minimal supervision, especially in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.

    + Previous experience in Index Management and Index Provider Relationships, with a solid understanding of the industry and financial products.

    + Excellent analytical capabilities and judgment, with the ability to quickly grasp current and emerging policies, practices, and trends impacting the Data Management organization.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrable ability to engage effectively with external providers, internal business clients, and crew members at all levels.

    + Detail-oriented and a proven self-starter, capable of working both independently and cross-functionally within teams.

    + Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, with working knowledge of Python and SQL as a significant plus.

    + Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external collaborators, and lead initiatives to successful outcomes
