Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for a **Director 1 for Sentinel Parts Material and Process Engineering** within the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division. This position can be located in **Roy, Utah, Manhattan Beach, CA or Huntsville, AL** and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Systems.
This position will lead a multi-discipline team of Parts, Material and Process Engineers on Sentinel with a focus on positioning the program for success through EMD.

+ Coordinate with the broader NG organization to identify & leverage existing resources, tools, and practices.

+ Conduct thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation & realization.
+ Adherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards
+ Ensuring program team understands & adheres to contract scope, and manages change through control board activities
What You Will Get To Do:
Lead the PM&P Engineering organization within Sentinel Systems Engineering & Integration, reporting to the SE&I Integrated Product Team Lead. Responsibilities include leadership over the following areas:
+ Responsibilities related to all areas within Parts Material and Process (PM&P) engineering
+ Management of PM&P engineering work scope including planning, budgeting, and reporting.
+ Leadership on PM&P engineering responsibilities and objectives across various integrated product teams (IPTs)
+ Leadership and coordination on PM&P engineering-focused internal and external stakeholder engagements (engineering review boards, customer sync meetings, formal working groups, etc.)
+ Ensuring flow down and satisfaction of requirements based on PM&P engineering analyses
+ Setting strategic PM&P objectives to meet program needs on the large scale and complexity of the Sentinel Program
+ Strategic leadership for Parts, Materials, and Processes Engineering which includes:
+ Leading up and out with Product Engineering Team Leadership in meeting requirements, program objectives and priorities
+ Leading down and in with the PM&P senior managers in team organization, setting team objectives, team culture and meeting commitments
+ Recognizing outstanding performance and addressing performance challenges effectively with the senior managers and team leads
+ Being a trusted partner for our USG Customers and Sentinel Leadership
+ Enhanced partnership with the Functional Department Leadership with the objective of an engaged and well developed PM&P team with the right skills and goal oriented mindset
+ Material assessments, specifications, and approval
+ Corrosion prevention and control
+ Standard Parts, Non-Standard Parts, Aging Surveillance, Metallics, Non-Metallics, Electronics, COTS Management, and Sole Source Technical Justifications
+ Process input for PDPs and Design Reviews (influence on program execution and design release velocity)

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
+ Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline with 10 years of progressive Design Engineering experience with knowledge of Parts, Materials and Process selection, analysis and qualification methods
+ Experience managing people
+ Active DoD Secret clearance, investigation must have been completed within last 5 years
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cost, Schedule and Technical performance planning management and reporting
+ Willing to travel up to 50% of the time
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
+ ICBM experience
+ Prior experience interfacing with USAF leadership personnel
+ Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
+ Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
+ Experience leading managers in the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all technical requirements.
+ Minimum of 5 years as a manager in leadership of product engineering teams (including direct PMP Organizational Leadership or Product Development Teams)
+ Cost account manager (CAM) experience
+ Demonstrated effectiveness in achieving results through managing people and understanding and management of internal processes and customer/supplier relationships.
+ Strong understanding and broad application of engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.)
+ Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
+ Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations
+ Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner
Primary Level Salary Range: $187,700.00 - $325,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
