You’re invited to become part of Northrop Grumman's Ground-Based Midcourse Defense Weapons System Leadership team in Colorado Springs. Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a well-qualified **Manager Systems Engineer 1** to join our dynamic team. GWS is part of NG Space Sector’s Missile Defense Integration Division. Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a well-qualified **Manager Systems Engineer 1** to join our dynamic team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
+ Complete functional team performance appraisals, provide career growth counseling, and aid in goal definition.
+ Provide staffing recommendations, review resumes, and participate in interviews.
+ The candidate should have a track record as an effective collaborator, communicator, and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
+ In addition to the functional management role, the candidate will perform the majority of their role on a GWS scrum team supporting a specific program area based on their skillset (e.g. systems engineering, software engineering, etc.)
+ This position is in Colorado Springs, CO with travel to company and customer sites potentially required up to 10% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelors degree in a technical field and at least five years of technical experience in Software, System, or Human Factors Engineering or a related technical discipline accompanied by high proficiency in technical problem solving.
+ Familiarity with Human Engineering plans, User Interface design descriptions and Human Engineering design approach.
+ Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles and practices.
+ Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
+ Demonstrated leadership skills including team building and navigation, career development, technical and inter-personal problem resolution, work planning, and allocation.
+ Current, active Secret Clearance
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ A current position as an individual contributor on the GWS GFC Product Team.
+ Demonstrated behavior as a driver for change and continuous improvement.
+ Experience managing diverse teams and personnel
+ Knowledge of Agile SCRUM processes.

Primary Level Salary Range: $118,100.00 - $177,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
