    Business & Market Insights is a business line within services offering a portfolio if data, analytics, insights, and intelligence products for customers including merchants, financial institutions, governments, and more. Our products range from business experimentation, benchmarking, and macroeconomic insights to card portfolio management reporting and alerting.

    The Role:

    The Vice President, Software Engineering, Data & AI for Business & Market Insights will build and lead a high performing technology team responsible for Data and Artificial Intelligence enablement across the Business & Market Insights portfolio. This will include partnering to activate our data assets through a modern public-cloud Lakehouse architecture, tooling to manage and activate client data, and deployment of modern AI platforms and capabilities.

     

    In this role you will collaborate with Market Facing teams to provide a modular and reusable data ecosystem ready to bring industry leading AI applications to market at scale. You will partner with enterprise data, cloud, and governance teams to deploy a robust, capable, and scalable system ready to accelerate a big-data business into an AI-first world.

    All About You:

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader who is passionate about technology and innovation:

    o Passion for staying current in a fast-paced field with proven ability to lead innovation in a scaled organization.

    o Deep data expertise with hands-on experience working with multiple scale-out data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, Impala, Exadata, etc.

    o Experience implementing GenAI capabilities and familiarity with techniques including prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, etc.

    o Experience executing a technology strategy for a market facing line of business in close collaboration with Product, Data Science, and peers.

    o Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with experience presenting to executive and external stakeholders.

    o Expertise and ability to lead technical decision making considering scalability, cost efficiency, stakeholder priorities, and time to market.

    o Proven track leading high-performing teams with experience leading and coaching director level reports and experienced individual contributors.

    o BS in engineering, computer science or related discipline.

    In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.

     

    Pay Ranges

     

    O'Fallon, Missouri: $200,000 - $320,000 USD

     

    Arlington, Virginia: $230,000 - $368,000 USD

     

    Purchase, New York: $230,000 - $368,000 USD
