Team Overview:
Do you have a strong background in Trading? Do you have extensive capital market knowledge? If so, this could be the right opportunity for you! The Best Execution Team examines the firm's Equity and Fixed Income trades to ensure executions are within the firm's policies and partner with Trading to continuously improve these policies to achieve a "best in class standard" for client orders. To improve the policies, this team thinks strategically about our market space and competition, our trading partners and practices, and leverage their knowledge of regulatory requirements and rules.
What You Will Do:
Our firm maintains and continuously improves a best-in-class standard for servicing client orders. A major component to achieving this standard is ensuring we obtain the best possible pre-trade data and prices, and the best possible executions. To meet our goal, the Fixed Income Best Execution Manager is responsible for managing the Best Execution policies for Fixed Income trading and examining the firm's trades to ensure executions are within those policies. To improve the policy, they must think strategically about our market space and competition, our trading partners and practices, and they must have expert knowledge of regulatory requirements and rules.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Execute annual priorities, set the firm standard and strategy for Fixed Income Best Execution in alignment with Trading, division, firm objectives and client outcomes
+ Expert knowledge and application of US and Canadian capital markets, regulatory frameworks, rules and guidance provided by the SEC, FINRA, MSRB and CIRO. Serve as the delegate of the Team Leader by representing the firm via industry organizations, such as SIFMA, Financial Information Forum (FIF), Bond Dealer Association (BDA), and internally with Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Compliance, Trading, and other internal business partners.
+ Develop, evolve, and ensure compliance with Best Execution, Fair Pricing, Market Access WSPs, disclosures rules, and regulations. Manage regulatory risk for Edward Jones through expert knowledge of reports, application of trading strategies, risk management techniques, and systems and technology used by Trading.
+ On a daily basis manage and analyze execution quality to ensure high standards are met regarding proper pricing and best execution on client trades. Demonstrate client service excellent across program types and segments such as Advisory, Trust Co, UMA, and High Net Worth to be retained as broker of choice. Present report results at least monthly to Trading stakeholders and quarterly to the Best Execution Committee.
+ Manage and ensure compliance of firm Best Execution policies and strategies that lead the industry and reinforce the firm's culture of compliance. Expert management of order routing, automated trading supervision, and development of internal and external trading and vendor systems.
+ Set the Fixed Income Best Execution standard and strategy to rigorously monitor counterparty, dealer, market-center, and ATS performance to inform optimal order routing strategies for Fixed Income Trading. Advocate and influence vendors and external trading counterparties, ensure we are appropriately using firm resources to achieve our goals and demonstrate our successes through advanced relationship management techniques
+ Leverage and foster results with internal partners such as: 1) Compliance, Legal Regulatory Affairs, and Operations as needed in response to regulatory inquiries, audits and examinations, 2) Technology for enhancement and project prioritization
+ Execute the team's operational excellence initiatives to alignment with the department, division, firm objectives, and client outcomes.
+ Expert decision making to evaluate and analyze the most complex data by applying insights through coding and reporting tools. Leverage subject matter expertise to monitor market conditions and raise awareness of potential market events to appropriate areas

Skills/Requirements
What Experience You Need:
+ A bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Math, Statistics, Business, Economics, Finance and/or Accounting is required.
+ Minimum of 6-10 years' experience required
+ Prior experience as best execution responsibilities or 6+ years equivalent industry experience with a preference for Trading or Compliance. Capital Markets knowledge is strongly preferred to understand the context behind the situations and conclusions encountered in this role.
+ FINRA Series 7,66/63 required
+ Series 52/53 required within 6 months of hire
+ This position requires expert knowledge of industry rules and regulations in both the United States and Canada (FINRA, SEC, MSRB and CIRO).
+ A deep understanding of fixed income market structure, capital markets, trading strategies, risk management techniques, and systems is required
+ Extensive experience with data management and analysis is critical as is the ability to organize and manage one's time and day efficiently.
What Could Set You Apart
+ Masters' degree
+ CFA, CFP, MBA or related designations preferred
+ Series 24 preferred
+ Previous work experience on a trading desk is highly preferred.
+ Experience with statistical software such as SQL, R and Python is preferred
Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
**Current INTERNAL home-based associates:** While this role is posted as hybrid, **if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status** . Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
