Job Description
**AECOM** is seeking an experienced Architect to join our collaborative team in Cleveland, Ohio.
As an Architect Level III in AECOM’s Cleveland Building + Place Studio, you’ll play a key role in shaping complex, high-impact projects across the Higher Education, Laboratory, and Federal sectors. You’ll join a collaborative, design-focused team working on projects like Case Western Reserve University and other regional initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to lead interdisciplinary teams, contribute to design excellence, and influence the culture and practice of our growing architecture group.
Job Summary/Responsibilities:
+ Collaborate on the development of design concepts and strategies that respond to our diverse clients’ needs and champion design excellence throughout all project phases .
+ Manage and contribute to all phases of project delivery—from concept through construction administration—ensuring technical quality, code compliance, and design integrity.
+ Coordinate with AECOMs engineering team, consultants, and other internal disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions.
+ Mentor junior architects and designers, fostering a collaborative studio culture and supporting professional development.
+ Serve as a point of contact for clients, participating in presentations, design reviews, and stakeholder meetings to ensure alignment with project goals and expectations.
+ Oversee the production of high-quality construction documents and specifications. Provide technical guidance and quality control across multiple projects.
+ Participate in site visits, RFIs, submittal reviews, and coordination with contractors to ensure design intent is maintained during construction.
+ Collaborate with marketing and leadership teams to provide technical content to RFP and RFQ responses, including project narratives, team qualifications, and design approach descriptions.
+ Prepare design, presentation, and contract drawings utilizing all digital tools available to our team, including but not limited to Revit, various 3-Dmodeling/3-D Printing platforms, and graphic design/layout/presentation software like the Adobe Suite, PowerPoint, etc.
+ Contribute to the growth and evolution of the Cleveland studio’s design culture. Support initiatives that enhance design process, mentorship, and innovation.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
+ BA/BS in Architecture plus four (4) years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Licensed as a registered architect or proven steps towards licensure, preferably in OH
+ Knowledge of buildings systems and material.
+ Knowledge of local building codes.
+ Proficient in Revit with 3D modeling skills in Sketchup and/or Rhino.
+ Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
+ Ability to produce design intent renderings and design concept diagrams.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC
+ Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open office work environment
+ Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $92000 to $119000.
