Job Description
**AECOM** has an exciting opportunity for a **Senior-level Environmental Planner** to join our Environmental Planning team in the western US. We serve numerous Department of Defense clients, delivering a variety of environmental management, planning, and infrastructure projects. We specialize in high-visibility complex projects that provide our senior staff with opportunities to grow.
This hybrid position can be based out of our Omaha, NE, San Antonio, TX or Oklahoma City, OK offices.
In this role, you will lead project teams to prepare environmental analysis and permitting documents with a particular focus on our growing line of work with U.S. Department of Defense clients.
The responsibilities of this role would include, but are not limited to:
+ Work with clients to develop solutions to achieve their goals.
+ Project management, including coordination with clients, technical staff, and subconsultants.
+ Serve as a Project Manager on large environmental compliance projects, particularly high-profile Department of Defense infrastructure and planning projects and similar projects for other federal clients as needed.
+ Oversee the work of early career staff and mentor others.
+ Contribute to marketing and business development, preparation of proposals, and formulating proposal cost estimates.
+ Attend and/or present at project and public meetings and assist in preparing meeting materials and compiling meeting results, including PowerPoint presentations, and other materials.
+ Participate in professional associations/events relevant to the industry.
+ Interpret and apply applicable government codes, ordinances, and regulations.
+ Manage and prepare both federal and state environmental documents as well as managing permitting activities for these projects.

Qualifications
Minimum** **Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field.
+ 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education with experience preparing environmental and permitting documents for Department of Defense (DoD) clients (e.g., US Army Corps of Engineers, US Air Force, Department of the Navy, US Marine Corps).
+ Valid U.S. Driver's license is required for this role.
+ Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in environmental planning, environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field.
+ 8+ years in project or task management of federal and state environmental permitting and planning efforts, including financial and budgetary management, resource allocation and scheduling, and management of subcontractors.
+ Experience preparing environmental and permitting documents for Department of Defense (DoD) clients (e.g., US Army Corps of Engineers, US Air Force, Department of the Navy, US Marine Corps).
+ Command of DoD agency structure, data management systems (including controlled unclassified documents), and current NEPA guidance.
+ Effective problem-solving abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively manage tasks and interact with clients, staff and subconsultants.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team to ensure performance of internal technical teams and subcontractors.
+ Commitment to perform and work with the highest quality and ethical standards.
+ Demonstrated leadership of DoD projects, including client interaction, schedule and budget controls, and invoicing.
+ Experience implementing and managing DoD projects located in the Midwest, Southwest, or Pacific.
+ Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage and/or work on several projects or issues simultaneously.
+ Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, identifying what needs to be accomplished and regularly completing tasks.
+ Proven ability to deliver under NEPA streamlining schedule and document (page count) requirements.
+ Demonstrated leadership skills.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $110000 to $135000.
