The Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority (ImCal HSA) exists to empower citizens with mental health, addiction, and developmental challenges residing in the parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jefferson Davis, valuing self-determination so that individuals can live satisfying, hopeful, and contributing lives.
We're seeking aMedical Certification Specialist in our Developmental Disabilities Division. Our Developmental Disabilities Division is committed to ensuring quality services, serving as the Single Point of Entry (SPOE) into the developmental disabilities services system.
Minimum Qualifications
A current Louisiana license in a health services field, health regulation field, or social services field plus two years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR
A master's degree in a health services field, health regulation field, or a social services field plus one year of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Certification Duties:
+ Conduct comprehensive reviews of Waiver plans of care and supporting documents for annual program recertification using the Plan of Care Review Tool/protocols. Provide feedback to Support Coordinators and providers on corrections needed.
+ Make determination for continuation of Waiver services within 10 business days of receipt of complete plan of care documents as outlined in state and federal Medicaid policy and procedures. Approve annual plan of care 10 days prior to plan of care end date.
+ Evaluate overall effectiveness of recipient’s plan ensuring personal outcomes and person-centered goals are identified appropriately within each plan as well as evaluate how supports will help ensure the individual’s health and safety in the community setting.
Entry Duties:
+ Determine eligibility for all applicants of ImCal, functioning as its SPOE (Single Point of Entry) to receive any DD (Developmental Disability) state services, including any of the 4 DD Medicaid Waiver Services (NOW/ New Opportunities Waiver, CC/Children's Choice, and SW/Supports Waiver and ROW/Residential Options Waiver) and to include all ImCal ES (Early Steps) participants as they reach 3 years old.
+ Send families written documentation of eligibility decisions and assume responsibility that eligible individuals are added to the DD Medicaid Waiver lists by transmitting documentation to the waiver management agency.
+ Schedule and conduct face to face interviews with applicants in the office, or an alternate location. Determine the applicant's legal status for service requests.

Career Progressi on: This position participates in a Career Progression Group and may be filled as a Medical Certification Specialist 1 or 2.
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
