MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The completion of one (1) year of enrollment in an SAF (Society of American Foresters) accredited curriculum program from an accredited college or university.

Requires a valid driver license.

This flexible position runs during the summer semesters at Florida colleges and other universities, with a maximum work week of 40 hours and a minimum of 20 hours per week.

This position will experience a broad array of activities working on state lands and with private forest landowners and communities.

Activities may vary by state forest locations:

+ Timber Inventory

+ Harvest Inspections

+ Site prep and survival checks

+ Rx burn evaluations.

+ updating geodatabases

+ trail development/ maintenance

+ recreation counts

+ rare plant surveys

+ treating invasive species

+ private landowner assistance

+ outreach programs

+ Champion Tree measurements,

+ Silviculture Best Management Practice Assistance
