Contract Length: 2025–2026 School Year

Hours: 40 hours/week

Grade Level: Pre-K

Class Size: Currently 4 students (may grow to 8–10)

Setting: Special Day Class (SDC)

Position Description:

SBCEO is seeking a passionate and qualified Pre-K Special Day Class Teacher to support students with special needs in their Santa Maria location. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in a collaborative, student-centered environment and is committed to early intervention and inclusive practices.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Develop, implement, and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families, therapists, and support staff

+ Provide direct instruction to students individually and in small groups

+ Monitor and document student progress, adjusting goals and strategies as needed

+ Supervise and guide instructional assistants and classroom volunteers

+ Collaborate with general education staff, specialists, and outside agencies (e.g., TCRC, Mental Health)

+ Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment

+ Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and parent training

+ Provide or assist with specialized health care services as outlined in IEPs (under nurse supervision)

+ Support integration into school and community settings when appropriate

Qualifications:

+ Valid California Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Credential

+ Experience working with preschool-aged children with special needs

+ Must have current MMR, Tdap, and TB clearance

Compensation:

+ Local Pay Rate: $65/hour

+ Travel Weekly Pay: $3,479
