    Requisition Summary

    PACCAR Parts has an exciting Technical Content Author summer internship opening at our Peterbilt Division office in Denton, TX. The selected candidate will work directly with our Service Content and Content Excellence teams, gaining exposure and experience in technical writing, Aftersales content management/lifecycle tools, authoring project management, publication, general content strategy, and the ways content teams relate to the production of light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks.

    + Develop mentoring relationships with Aftersales

    + Gain valuable hands-on experience

     

    Job Functions / Responsibilities

     

    This position will work hand in hand with PACCAR Parts’ Service Content and Content Excellence teams to support dealer and customer facing publications. The intern will perform a combination of the following functions:

     

    + Authoring service information for dealer technicians and operator manuals for drivers

    + Audit of documents intended for our publication portal to determine readiness

    + Management and optimization of content in our content management platform (Empolis CLS)

    + Review and format desktop procedures on internal processes

    + Support project management efforts and reporting for ongoing projects

    + Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    + Relevant coursework in Technical Communication or Engineering

    + Exceptional Microsoft Office skills

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Strong organizational and project management skills

    + Strong interest in automotives

    + Self-starter and resourceful

    + Team-oriented and able to work well in groups

    + Flexibility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

    + Ability to handle multiple priorities

    + Exceptional professionalism

    Education

    + Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in English, Technical Communication, Engineering, Business, or a related program

    + Junior or senior standing preferred

    Wage Scale or Salary Range

    The salary range for our intern positions is as follows:

    + Undergraduate Students: $25.00/Hour

    + Graduate Students: $30.00/Hour
