As a Reserve Port Officer, you are vigilant, composed, and deeply committed to protecting people and property with integrity and professionalism. Your ability to build trust, uphold confidentiality, and respond decisively under pressure makes you a reliable guardian of public safety and a respected partner in the community.
What you will do:
+ Safeguard lives and property through active patrols and rapid response across Massport facilities.
+ Enforce laws, regulations, and policies while monitoring vessel activity and securing designated areas.
+ Support crime prevention and community engagement through investigations, emergency aid, and proactive outreach.
+ Maintain secure access control, verify identities, and protect sensitive security information in compliance with federal standards.
WHAT YOU OFFER
Successful completion of a Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) certified basic police Recruit Officer Course, the Mass. State Police SSPO Academy, or successful completion of the Massachusetts Bridge Academy (MPTC) and obtained POST (Peace Officers Standards and Training) Certification. Those who have completed an out-of-state full-time recruit academy must have 2 years’ full-time law enforcement experience to be eligible for permanent exemption from the Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC).
+ Valid driver’s license and eligibility for firearm licensing, TWIC, and Massport Security Badge.
+ Completion and maintenance of firearms and CPR certifications through scheduled requalification.
+ Ability to pass a Massport pre-placement physical and personality assessment, controlled substance screening, and background and security checks.
