    Position Summary: Responsible for providing field and office support for NEPA reports, wetlands and waters delineations, species surveys, and environmental permitting in Texas. This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification.

     

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

     

    + ArcGIS Pro software utilization and data collection

    + Ability to work in hot or cold field conditions for up to 10 hours per day

    + Skills necessary to complete reports in Microsoft Apps and Adobe Pro

    + Assist with delineation of wetlands according to USACE Regional Supplements

    + Assist with preparation of Jurisdictional Determination Packages for submittal to USACE

    + Provide input on solutions to problems using basic scientific knowledge and principles

    + Evaluate equipment and material

    + Maintain accurate and current project documentation

    + Enter data into systems

    + Assist with administrative duties

     

    Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

     

    + Perform other related duties as assigned

     

    Required SkillsRequired Experience

    Preferred Experience

    + Full-time, undergraduate student in natural resources, environmental science, biology or similar field

    + Experience with ArcGIS Pro and GNSS data collection.

    + Basic knowledge of National Environmental Policy Act documentation

    + Basic knowledge of USACE 1987 Manual

    + Basic knowledge of species surveys

    + Previous internship experience

     

    Working Conditions

     

    Work is performed within a general office environment, and outside (>50%) field work associated wetland delineations and species habitat assessments; thus, the candidate should be physically able and willing to work up to 8 continuous hours per day in potentially very hot conditions during the summer months (May through August).
