Laboratory Technician (Biology) - #Staff

The Farber Lab in the Department of Biology is looking for a **_Laboratory Technician_** who will be performing routine laboratory processes and following routine protocols under close supervision.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
+ Operate standard equipment.
+ Use standard procedures for specific laboratory tests and preparation techniques.
+ Assist with laboratory maintenance, prepare solutions, and order supplies.
+ Identify and report problems in the completion of routine lab processes.
+ Other duties as assigned.
_In addition to the duties described above_
+ Provide fish room backup coverage.
+ Assist in maintaining all Farber common fish stocks.
+ Assist Lab Coordinator as needed.
+ Design and perform experiments under the mentorship of senior lab staff/personnel.
+ Keep detailed records of all experiments.
Minimum Qualifications
+ High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Some science coursework and/or a training certificate from a technical institute.

Starting Salary Range: $15.40 - $23.25 HRLY (Commensurate w/exp.)
