    As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our National Marine Practice within Aon Commercial Risk Solutions in Houston, TX.

     

    Aon’s Global Marine Specialty Practice is structured to deliver global capabilities locally. As the world’s leading broker, and as experts in marine coverages and market alternatives, Aon has unparalleled access to world insurance markets and new sources of capital, enabling us to design the optimal insurance and risk management program. We work closely with various clients and many industries – including but not limited to, manufactures, distributors, logistics, life science, energy and technology – to interpret their needs, using a data-driven approach and technology that collects and analyzes global market data in real time, to support carrier selection and negotiation.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Identify and analyze client exposures and determine which markets to utilize, ensuring thorough evaluation of qualified companies in the marketplace

    + Participate in client discussions to understand needs and develop strategies

    + Acts as the primary negotiator in obtaining the most appropriate carrier coverage from a variety of insurance carriers

    + Manage a book of high-volume, small-account focused business.

    + End to end broking and processing; manage entire process, from broking renewals, servicing day to day account needs to billing and internal processing, documentation creation, and client/carrier distribution, etc. Full-service process from start to finish.

    + Create submissions for all assigned accounts. Ensuring submission quality to Aon Standards, including details of any midterm changes, new operations, exposure schedules, claims summaries, etc.

    + Support larger-profiled account Broker teams as broker specialist support - inclusive of billing, processing of renewals and documentation distribution, etc.

    + Provide support, guidance and training to associate brokers/new hires.

    Required Experience:

    + Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, exceptional organizational skills, ability to make and communicate difficult decisions.

    + Minimum of 2- 5 years of marine insurance brokerage and/or underwriting experience and/or related experience.

    + Effective working knowledge of carrier underwriting practices & processes.

    + Proven skills in working with teams and ability to work with clients and to successfully exceed client expectations.

    + Proven client facing skills including effective presentations & communications.

    + Proven organization and ability to work with others.

    + Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various levels.

    + Successfully operates in a fast-paced driven environment that requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

    + Sales experience preferred.

    + Must maintain appropriate broker’s license.

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree required

    Pay Transparency Laws:

    The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $83,000 to $110,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

     

    This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
