The Engineering Technician is responsible for assisting new product development by creating detailed documentation supported by elemental time studies, work instructions and videos as required to support a robust and repeatable manufacturing process. The team member will be responsible for all NPI reporting and application maintenance inclusive of Wrike and Tulip. They will work closely with the Production Development Shop, NPI Projects leads and engineering to ensure an approved product package is released to manufacturing.
Documentation & Data
+ Lead the elemental time study process for creating detail-oriented product or process specific work instructions. Serve as SME for time studies and documentation maintenance ensuring that documents are always available for manufacturing.
+ Maintain and create Tulip app for all new product work instructions.
+ Ensure Tulip approvals are completed in a timely manner
+ Create and maintain project folders with all product related documentation, including but not limited to Critical Requirements document, CAD models and drawings, product and tooling estimated costs, material and tooling purchase requisitions, work instructions, testing and time studies, quality evaluations and reports, reference documents and prototype transfers. Ensure alignment with file management protocol, including nomenclature and transfer
Leadership/ Project Management:
+ Facilitate new product planning meetings, agendas, recaps and follow-up actions.
+ Maintain all project document repositories and ensure completion at project end.
+ Process and communicate all costing scenarios for RFP (Request for Pricing) process and identify primary cost drivers.
+ Track and maintain all CER/expense files.
+ Ensure the preparation and accuracy of monthly dashboard and ad hoc reporting through various NPI Tools (Wrike)
+ Collection and compilation of data; Preparation of reports and presentations related to project status. Gather and maintain data that can be used for future projects to be able to rely on historical data versus trial and error.
TWS Support
+ Coordinate and accurately maintain of all product related data and project requirements, including but not limited to part number set-up, Bill of Material/Route, cost, produce specifications and work instructions, adhering to SOPs and best practices
+ Move all product for TWS deliveries.
+ Accurately and expediently measure, collect, analyze, present, and communicate data and comparative documents to support the execution of TWS product.
Qualifications
Required
+ Associates degree or equivalent
+ 2 plus years related experience
+ Experience with a document management system (e.g. Adept)
+ Knowledge of GD&T and basic measuring skills
+ Ability to understand, communicate and create technical manufacturing documentation, including ability to read BOMs and routes and then relate them to drawings
+ Strong communications skills: verbal, written and presentation
+ Strong computer skills: Microsoft package (Word, Excel, Project)
+ Ability to work within a team environment
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project and OneNote)
Preferred
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
+ Minitab or equivalent skills
+ CAD skills
+ JDE or business equivalent enterprise resource planning software
