Description
Position Summary
This position fully understands customer requirements and translates them into processes and documentation that will allow for our Manufacturing partners to successfully produce the items. These outputs will allow us to exceed our customers’ expectations for quality, delivery, and cost, while ensuring our employee’s and neighbor’s health and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Analyzes drawings, models, PO, and other customer documentation to produce all manufacturing and purchasing documentation.
• Fully functional in Engineering and Purchasing modules in selected ERP system. All part maintenance sections are completed by this group. Engineering workbench for each part number is maintained with appropriate documents such as the inspection print, set up sheets, and inspection reports.
• Develops process and writes CNC programs for: CNC Lathe, CNC Mill. Full knowledge of associated processes to manufacture full product line.
• Customer communication as required to understand product fit, form, and function.
• Help set-up machines and get first piece approval as needed
• Ability to “engineer” and “release” jobs to Manufacturing.
• Maintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• Coach and mentor junior employees; seek opportunities to grow leadership in others.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications, attending seminars, watching industry videos, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Position Qualifications
• Associates degree in Engineering or related discipline is a plus
• 3+ years of experience in related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Knowledge of electronics and machine tools.
+ Experience with programming.
+ Must have good problem solving skills.
+ Must have excellent time management skills.
+ Must have good organizational and planning skills.
+ Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Must be mechanically inclined.
+ Knowledge of metal shop work.
+ Must be highly detail oriented.
+ Must be able to work effectively with little or no supervision.
+ Must have the ability to write and read complex spreadsheets.
+ Must have the ability to read blueprints.
+ Knowledge of safety measures pertinent to each job assignment.
Salary Description
$28 - $36/hour
