    The Temporary Dishroom Associate supports Dining Services by ensuring clean and sanitary dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. This position works as part of a team in the dish room and performs custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and other cleaning projects as assigned by supervisors.

    The posted wage represents CSB and SJU's good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon several factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills, and may fall outside of the range indicated.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate and monitor the dish machine before, during, and after mealtimes, ensuring proper washing and sanitation of dishes, flatware, and cookware.

    + Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish room and related equipment.

    + Assist in training and providing feedback to part-time staff.

    + Support recycling program by sorting materials and ensuring procedures are followed.

    + Restock service and production areas with clean equipment and supplies as needed.

    + Maintain a clean uniform, practice proper sanitation and safe work habits.

    + Attend required meetings and training sessions.

    + Performs related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    + Must be at least 16 years old.

    + On-the-job training is provided.

    + Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.

    + Effective communication skills and ability to work well with Dining Services staff and student employees.

    + Strong teamwork skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people.

    + Ability to learn proper use of cleaning chemicals and products.

    + Reliable attendance and punctuality.

    + Availability to work rotating shifts, including regular evening and weekend assignments.

    PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:

    + Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally and smaller amounts frequently.

    + Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, bending, and stooping.

    + Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

    + Occasional exposure to temperature extremes (hot and cold environments).

    + Frequent exposure to cleaning and sanitizing solutions; must be able to use single-use and reusable gloves as required.
