    A Day in the life of an Operations Leader in the New Product Development team consists of executing day-to-day operations by leading our hourly workforce and being available as first level of elevation for the team. The Operations Leader is 100% responsible for product flow to meet and exceed both our internal and external customer s needs. The ideal leader will know how to bring out the best in our employees while helping navigate difficult times. It is a critical need of this position to own and take pride in being a People Leader to best capitalize on untapped potential of team members so that both the team and business can be successful. The Operations Leader is responsible for ensuring that all employees are working safely, according to work instructions, and challenging the team in order to continue to grow individually and as a team. Mentoring and coaching is necessary for this role, as it is important for every team member to understand the why and be able to see the bigger picture, strategy, and vision. The Operations Leader role requires strong communication skills as this position will not only provide work direction to the team, but also provide communication across all shifts as well as include status/commits to Customers, Program Managers, Product Center Leaders, and more.

     

    Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, this work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

    IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

    + Ensuring all employees are working safely and according to work instructions

    + Monitoring all work order and labor management activity of team

    + Provide operational input to overall business strategy

    + Contribute to annual operations planning for the business

    + Take part in developing and driving operational strategy with a 1218-month vision

    + Determine staffing needs (hourly, salary) and ensure team is structured correctly

    + Identify and drive development needs - coach and mentor team members as required

    + Drive effective communications throughout the team

    + Mold team culture and workforce integrity

    + Proactively support quality initiatives, for defect reduction in manufacturing and test

    + Drive strategies to increase productivity, efficiency through the reduction process waste

    + Embed continuous improvement into all team activities and processes

    + Monitor, report and take action to reduce cost through team initiatives to support business goals

    + Collaborate with other leaders to standardize common processes

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Operational Leadership, Engineering, or equivalent experience

    + Minimum of 4 years of related work experience in leading teams within production, manufacturing, operations or similar environments

    + Demonstrated ability to manage a team with demanding and ever-changing customer expectations

    + Excellent communication both written and verbal

    + Exceptional attitude and interpersonal skills coupled with good judgement to overcome team challenges

    + Ability to lead in a team-based manufacturing environment and make decisions with minimal supervision

    + Experience working with Microsoft Office Tools

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    + Eight (8) years of related experience leading development and production team members that manufacture high-reliability electronic assemblies

    + Previous experience leading, mentoring and developing employees across multiple shifts

    + Experience implementing Lean-Sigma manufacturing concepts to improve safety, quality, through improved product flow while lowering cost

    + Technical understanding of the manufacturing of high reliability electronics

    + Experience utilizing business systems and tools that aid in managing labor, processes, and budgets

     

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $77814 - $132283

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
