    RESPONSIBILITIES

    I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plans, coordinates, and facilitates the daily activities of the Social Work Associates and ensures all activities are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

    • Provides work leadership and guidance to the Social Work Associates.

    • Ensures quality service and patient care in the department.

    • Perform duties of a Social Work Associate.

    II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Required: sitting, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting, pushing and carrying items up to usual weight of 5 pounds (i.e., office supplies).

    • Frequent: static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, walking, lifting usual weight of 3 pounds; carrying usual weight of 2 pounds; reaching at shoulder level; repetitive arm/hand motions.

    • Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, lifting maximum of 10 pounds (i.e., bottled water jug), reaching above and below shoulder level.

    IIII. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

    • Subjected to noise and/or vibration due to shared office space, air conditioning and construction work in neighboring department.

    • May be exposed to hostile, disruptive, assaultive and inappropriate patient behavior.

    • Must have access to a motor vehicle.

    IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field; or a bachelor’s degree in a non-related field with two (2) years of experience working in a comparable job demonstrating knowledge of governmental and social agencies and services may be substituted for a degree in Social Work or related field.

    • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required in accordance with Hawaii State law rules and regulations.

    • Driver’s abstract or evidence of good driving record.

    • Meet and comply with qualifications set forth in QMC Fleet Safety Policy.

    B. EXPERIENCE:

    • In addition to education requirement, three (3) years of experience as a Social Work Associate or in Social Services.

    • Prior supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
