    The Distinguished, Technical Program Manager leads complex, large-scale programs by defining goals, managing cross-functional dependencies, and driving strategic technology solutions. This role requires expertise in program planning, technical design, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful delivery across multiple teams. The position emphasizes continuous improvement, risk management, and effective communication to align stakeholders and optimize resources. The manager mentors team members, fosters innovation, and implements scalable processes that enhance operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and integrity throughout program lifecycles.

     

    The Payroll Modernization (PayMod) team leads the migration of the largest U.S. workforce to a new payroll system while enhancing system architecture for global scalability. This team drives complex, large-scale programs by applying advanced project and stakeholder management, technical design, and continuous improvement processes. Members collaborate cross-functionally to deliver scalable, efficient solutions that meet evolving business needs. The team fosters a disciplined approach to program execution, emphasizing clarity, risk mitigation, and process optimization to ensure successful outcomes and sustained system reliability across multiple initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    Lead and manage complex, large-scale technical programs with multiple interdependent projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and delivery timelines.

     

    Define program scopes, stage gates, critical paths, and key deliverables while securing commitments from cross-functional teams.

     

    Drive end-to-end system solution design, addressing architectural decisions, scalability, and technical constraints.

     

    Identify and mitigate risks, resolve conflicts, and unblock teams to maintain program momentum.

     

    Establish and improve scalable, repeatable workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and velocity.

     

    Mentor team members on best practices, technical design, and stakeholder engagement.

     

    Utilize data-driven insights to guide decisions and communicate program status effectively to stakeholders.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    10+ years of experience managing large-scale, complex technical programs with cross-functional dependencies and resource constraints.

     

    Proven ability to define program goals, stage gates, critical delivery paths, and key deliverables for multi-area initiatives.

     

    Strong expertise in technical design, including software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and system/platform components.

     

    Skilled in stakeholder engagement, securing buy-in, and resolving conflicting priorities to align program outcomes.

     

    Proficiency in risk management, issue resolution, and driving continuous process improvements.

     

    Ability to mentor team members on best practices and foster effective communication across teams.

     

    Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills using data-driven decision-making and impact analysis. SAP experience is a strong plus (even more valuable than payroll experience)

     

    Payroll domain experience is important
